Blankets for the Cat

Here you will find various nice cat blankets that you can use to pad a cage, lay over the sofa or use as a cat bed on the floor and other places. A blanket is a good protection against cat fur on sofas and beds, because often the cat prefers to sleep right where you prefer not to have a lot of cat hair and grains of cat litter. ☺ Another type of blanket you find on this page is activity blankets. In these fun blankets, sometimes called sniffing carpets, one can hide cat treats or kibble so that the cat can search for this. A fun activity that stimulates the cat and teaches problem solving.
A blanket for the cat can be in various textiles such as plush, fleece, polyester or faux fur. One can use the blanket to softly pad the cage or elsewhere. The blanket protects what is underneath from loose cat fur that is shedded, and the cat gets a soft and warm surface to lie on. One can advantageously put the blanket over a sofa or bed where the cat likes to lie, so you do not have to remove as much fur from the furniture when it is time to clean up. Your cat may want to sleep on a shelf in a wardrobe, in the window or on top of a bookshelf? These are not unusual sleeping places for a cat - often they want to sleep in a place high up. But how nice is it to lie on a hard wooden surface? Fold together a cat blanket that you put as a base where the cat likes to be so it becomes a bit softer and more comfy.
Activity blankets, or sniffing carpets, are blankets that can be used as cat toys or for mental stimulation, but which of course also works well to sleep on. The blanket has several strips that one can hide cat treats or kibble between which the cat then find by using its nose. This stimulates the cat's natural hunting instinct when it gets to search for the food itself. This can also be a good way to feed the cat if you have a cat that stress-eats or is overweight - give a portion of kibble hidden in the blanket instead of in a bowl. In this way, it takes longer for the cat to eat and it slows the cat down while eating. The blanket can also become popular as a cat bed as it is soft and the many strips make it fluffy and comfortable to lie on.
