At Petster you can find strategy games and other toys that make the dog think and solve problems. We have fun games where the dog needs to move tiles, lift, push and pull to access a hidden treat. These games are perfect for letting the dog practice problem solving - and a way to reward the dog. There are also various dog toys with treat dispensers where the dog needs to move, shake or roll to get the dog treats.

With a puzzle game or strategy game for dogs you can activate the dog mentally. Some toys and games can take several minutes to solve. A fun game is therefore excellent if you want to distract the dog for a while. One can also use some of the games as a tool to slow down a dog as a seat. If your dog eats too fast, even with a special bowl, you can try feeding with the different games. In this way, the dog needs to look for or push on the food to access it.

Some games are trays with raised edges, walls, knobs and holes that you place on the floor and put in kibble or dog treats. The dog then gets to look for the treats and in order to eat them, the dog may need to push or move the treats, angle the head or use the paws to access. Pet Enigma from Savic is such a game, and Petster has this in several sizes and levels. Level one is a little easier, and level two is more difficult where the treats are more difficult to access.

The games from Nina Ottosson (Outward Hound) are different kinds of puzzles and strategy games for dogs that are also available in different levels of difficulty. Dog Tornado is a popular activation game where the dog needs to spin on rotating discs and move the lids to find the treat. You can make it easy in the beginning and remove all the lids, and then add them when the dog understands what the game is about. Jollypaw is another brand that makes strategy games where the treats are partly or completely hidden and the dog needs to move parts or open lids to access. Many of the games are just as good for cats - just replace the dog treats with cat treats or kibble.
