Hoof Oil

With hoof oil you can care for your horse's hooves or give extra shine when you wish. Hoof oil is something that can be used every day as a part of the horse's daily care routine, or at special occations like shows. Hoof oil - For supple and glossy hooves

Hoof oils, hoof fats and hoof conditioners contain various ingredients that contribute to increased flexibility and elasticity in the hoof. It strengthens, protects and cares for a hoof that is dry and brittle.

You can easily brush hoof oil on the horse's hooves. Some hoof oils come with a brush, other oils you may need to buy a brush separately for. Hoof fat is thicker in consistency and is instead massaged in with the fingers in the coronary band and hoof. For horses that have very dry hooves, you can use both a hoof grease on the crown edge and a hoof oil on the hoof walls.

You can use hoof oil on both horses that are shod and barefoot, and it is easy and quick to brush on the oil. Keep in mind, however, that oil and grease act as a moisture barrier. It prevents water and moisture from leaving the hoof, but it also prevents moisture from entering the hoof wall. If you are going to ride outside in wet weather, rather oil the hooves after the ride, and feel free to moisten the hooves a little before you oil the hooves!
