Nylon and Mesh Harnesses

Nylon harnesses are one of the most common types of dog harness. This type of harness is durable but still soft and weighs relatively little which is comfortable for the dog. Often the nylon harnesses come in many different fun colors so you can find one that suits your dog. Some have reflective details so that you can walk in the evening and be seen well. Nylon harnesses can go over the back, around the belly and neck - or around the neck and between the abdomen and the chest. Some have thick straps or back and abdominal plates and others are of a thinner model.

Mesh straps are lightweight harnesses that can have different functions. Some mesh harnesses are cooling harnesses that are soaked with cold water and wringed out before putting them on the dog. These keep the dog comfortable during hot summer days or when the activity level is high. One advantage of mesh harnesses is that they are usually very well ventilated, which makes them extra comfortable for the dog to wear when it is warm outside. Most mesh harnesses have very good breathability and weigh very little.
