During the warmer months, it is important to keep the insects away, and we at Petster have a good range of different products that can help with this. Fly spray and a fly hood, perhaps together with a good fly rug, can save the horse from stinging and biting insects and should be in all horse owners' saddle chambers!

Keep the insects away with insect control!

During the warmer months, there are a lot of insects in the air, and they are often attracted to the ears and eyes, which can cause discomfort and itching in the horse and in some cases even infections. It is important to try to keep the insects away, and we at Petster therefore have a good range of different products that can help with that.

Fly spray is the most common way to fight and keep insects away, and should be present in every stable. If the horse is easily irritated in the eyes by the insects, or if it does not have a mane that can protect the eyes, it may need a fly hood or a fly headband. It prevents flies and other insects from accessing the sensitive eyes!

For extra sensitive horses, fly spray and fly hood can be combined with a fly and eczema blanket. Then almost the entire horse's body is protected from bites and stings. Flight blankets with patterns, e.g. zebra pattern, also works by making the insects disoriented, so that they never even land on the horse!
