Wither Pad to the rescue!

Using rugs on horses is a common practice in most stables. However, horse owners often face a common dilemma. They want their horse to be warm, clean, and comfortable in their rug, but the frustrating downside is that the lower part of the mane can get rubbed by the rug. Rub marks can also easily develop on the withers and shoulders. Horses that are fully clipped are particularly sensitive to te pressure from the rug's neckline.

The Bucas research and development team has listened to feedback from customers and retailers and has come up with a solution – the new Bucas Wither Pad. The new pad has already been extensively tested in practice with excellent results.

The Wither Pad is compatible with all Bucas rugs with neck attachment points and can be easily and securely attached to the existing hook-and-loop fastenings on the neckline. The pad then folds flat under the rug, where it alleviates pressure from the withers thanks to its 300g of cushioned padding. The silk-feel lining is smooth against the horse’s skin and helps to keep the mane and coat in good condition. Bucas recommends washing the pad regularly, as grease and dirt can also contribute to rubbing on the crest of the mane. The Bucas Wither Pad ensures the horse’s comfort and protects both the mane and withers from rubbing!
