Vitamin E supplement without selenium. Vitamin E is considered to prevent the free radicals from breaking down the horse's muscles. As the horse ingests free radicals via the inhaled air, the intake increases during hard exertion, and thus the need for vitamin E increases during hard work. Cold, feeding with fresh oats, acidified feed and pregnancy also increase the need for vitamin E. This feed supplement also helps to strengthen the immune system and promotes the supply of oxygen to the muscles. However, it is important not to overdose on vitamin E.
