Swede Clay is just as useful after hard efforts as in your daily care of your horse. Above all, this is aimed at hard-working competition horses or horses in hard training. It is a clay with a unique composition that absorbs heat from the legs, which provides deep-acting, effective cooling of the muscles. In this way, the small muscle strains that naturally form after hard work are minimized and cared for. Due to the rapid cooling, the flow of blood through the horse's bones decreases and thus the swelling and the small micro-injuries in the muscles are reduced.
The clay is applied in a thick layer over tendons and joints and allowed to sit until the clay is dry. Then you can easily brush off the clay or wash it off. Otherwise it will fall off when it has dried.
To achieve a slower cooling: place paper on top of the clay and bandage. In this way, you first get a slightly smaller cooling effect, and then a warming effect. The paper-wrapped clay becomes like a stable bandage.
How does the clay work?
Swede Clay acts as a heat exchanger by drawing heat from the horse's legs and emitting it to the air outside. In this way, it acts deeply and effectively as a cooler for tendons, muscles and ligaments.
